Ophelia Defelici

Ophelia DeFelici passed away July 31, 2010 at Lakeshore Village Healthcare Center.

Ophelia was born on July 11, 1932 in Anniston, Alabama. She was the daughter of Robert & Nellie Holt (passed away). She also lived in San Antonio, and Wittier California, where she owned her own Diner for several years.
In March 2001, she became ill from Diabetes, and entered Lakeshore Village Nursing Home, where she lived until her death. While she was living there she became the sweetheart of the entire staff & the residents. Also while residing at Lakeshore Village she was a member of RSVP for 5 years, served on Resident Council for 5 years, she was vice president of the council in 2010, she used her hat making talents to make Easter hats for the residents, she was Texas Volunteer of the year in both 2005 and 2006, and she was the Activities Dept. right hand. She was also heavily involved in fundraisers and group activities until her health began to fail.
Ophelia was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers Joseph & James Holt; and two sisters Flo Kirkpatrick and Dorothy Olive.
She is survived by a son Richard David Thomas Sr. & wife, Shannon D’Ann Thomas; Five Grandchildren; Two grandchildren by blood Richard David Thomas Jr. & Kathryn Nicole Thomas, and three by marriage Ashlee Lauren Gilbertson, Terri Anne Victoria Odom, & Christopher Wesley Bryant; daughter in law of the heart Sandra Thomas; One sister Helen Cain; and one brother Cabbot Holt.
