Nicholas Aiden Hofferber

October 30, 2002 — April 4, 2025

Waco, Texas

Nicholas "Nick" Aiden Hofferber, 22, born on October 30, 2002, in Waco, Texas, and passed away on April 4, 2025, in Temple, Texas.

Nick brought light and energy into the lives of those around him from the very beginning.

He is lovingly remembered by his parents, Tom and Carlianne Hofferber of Waco; his brothers, Justin Hofferber of California and Zachary Hofferber of Waco; and his grandparents Dwight and Sue Goains of Lake Limestone, Bob and Wendy Casiano of San Antonio, Bill Hofferber of Kearney, Nebraska, and Charlie Young of Lawton, Oklahoma.

Nick also leaves behind aunts and uncles—Rob and Kelly Carter of Holt Michigan, Jeff and Kali Hofferber of Fort Worth Texas and Jon and Traci Contreras of Platte City Missouri—along with many cousins and close friends whose lives were touched by his generous and compassionate spirit.

He was preceded in death by his grandmothers Joyce Wade and Fran Hofferber.

From a young age, Nicholas showed a deep sense of empathy and kindness. At daycare, he was always drawn to the younger children, eager to help and care for them rather than play with children his own age. That spirit of caring continued throughout his life.

He began his education in Gatesville, later attending Midway schools in Waco, and ultimately graduated a year early from Penn Foster in May 2021, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. His perseverance and determination stood out even in challenging times.

Nick's strong work ethic shone brightly from his first job at Home Depot, where he earned multiple awards and heartfelt recognition for his dedication and cheerful attitude. Over the years, he held various roles that showcased his commitment and heart, most recently working at Concho Parts Supply in Temple.

He had a deep love for adventure that included traveling with family and friends on camping trips, going on cruises, exploring different countries and snowboarding in Colorado. He was passionate about cars and animals—especially dogs and wolves. His beloved dog Bella brought him immense joy, and he could often be found walking her in parks, on trails, or visiting the local humane society to find her new friends.

Even though Nicholas’s life was cut short at a young age, he was very much loved and will be remembered as a kind and loving soul who always placed others before himself. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him. His parents and family know that they will see their son again in Paradise. They find comfort because of the promise in Acts 24:15: “And I have hope toward God, which hope these men also look forward to, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.”

A memorial gathering to honor Nick’s life will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2025, from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Grace Gardens Funeral Home, 8220 Woodway Dr., Woodway, Texas 76712. The service will also be live-streamed for those who are unable to attend in person.
