Neva Jean (Dulock) Walker-Amyett

Neva (Dulock) Walker-Amyett of Woodway passed away peacefully Friday, August 25, at a local hospital. She was 80 years old.

Neva was born on February 19, 1943, in Waco to William and Lillian Dulock. She went to Waco schools, and then earned a degree in Elementary Education from what is now the University of North Texas. She taught fifth grade at Midway ISD for many years.

Neva was married to John L. Walker Jr. until his passing in 1993. She married Excell Amyett on October 13, 2001. She was a founding member of St. Jerome Catholic Church and was the first president of the St. Jerome’s Women’s Society. She enjoyed working in her flowerbeds at home and at church as one of “The Lord’s Landscapers.”

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband; and a brother; Garland Dulock.

She is survived by her husband, Excell Amyett; a brother, Raymond Dulock and his wife, Joyce; sons Patrick Walker and his wife, Diana; David Walker and his wife, Danielle; Bill Walker and wife, Kari; and Troy Amyett and his wife, Misa; daughters Jill Drews and her husband, Jeff; and DD Foster and her husband, Tracy. Survivors also include grandchildren Jacob Pence, Jake Farrell, Channing Walker, Jack Walker, Collin Walker, Emily Walker, Elise Walker, John Walker, Ella Walker, William Drews, Elliot Mikulencak, and Lucy Mikulencak.

Pallbearers are Ross Kammlah, Louis Mynarcik Jr, BJ “Billy” Todaro, Jeff Drews, Jake Farrell, and Jack Walker.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Ascension Providence hospital for the wonderful care they gave Neva over the last three weeks.
