Myrtis L. Nolan, 87, of Waco passed away peacefully on Friday, July 30th at St. Catherine's Nursing Home. Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 3rd at 11:00 a.m. at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday , August 2nd from 6-8 p.m. at Grace Gardens Funeral Home.
Ms. Nolan was born in Tallulah, Louisiana on October 8, 1922. She was united in marriage to Earl D. Nolan. He preceded her in death. Together they traveled and lived in many places in the U.S. and Europe while he served in the military. She worked in retail sales until her retirement.
Myrtis was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt.
She will be remembered for her generosity to all who knew her and for the love she had for her family.
Her parents, a sister, four brothers and a son, Richard Nolan preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughter Linda Schmitz and husband Leon; son David Nolan and wife Stacy; grandchildren Eric Schmitz and wife Katey, Bryan Schmitz and special friend Anne, Jessica Lopez and husband Tony, Brianna Nolan, Doug Nolan and wife Melaine, Janette Molloy and husband Sean, and Kathy Dunham; great-grandchildren Benjamin, Megan, Sarah, Abby, Christina, D.J., Ashley, Lori, and Kimberly; sisters Cooter Brown and husband Donald, Lucille Chapman and Mary Chaney; brother Bob Gilmer and wife Barbara and special friend Wanda Ming.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff of St. Catherine's Nursing Home for their loving care and support to Myrtis these last two years.
