Milleadge Lavern Wessel, 84, of Woodway, passed away Thursday, November 14, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. Funeral Services will be 10:00 am, Monday, November 18, 2019 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home with Reverend Terry Graham officiating. Interment will follow at Rosemound Cemetery. A visitation with the family will be 3:00 – 5:00 pm, Sunday, November 17, 2019 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home.
Milleadge was born January 17, 1935 in Metropolis, Illinois to Mamie and William John Wessel, the second of four children. After graduating high school, Milleadge served in the US Air Force for four years. He retired with 30 years from Oncor Electric Delivery.
He married Janice Burnham from Metropolis, Illinois in 1962. They moved to Texas at that time due to school and employment and had two daughters. They have lived in Waco, Texas since 1978. He could fix almost anything and enjoyed nature.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors are his loving wife of 57 years; daughters, Christina Dawn Martin and husband Kenneth (Chip), of Hewitt, and Marla Dee Acker and husband Stephen, of Tilden, Texas; siblings, Earlene LaRue of Balch Springs, Texas, Billy Joe Wessel and wife Mary, and Bobby Wessel, all of Metropolis, Illinois; grandchildren, Kendra Martin, Jacob Martin, Amber Acker, Brett Acker; and many nieces and nephews.
