Michael David Carvajal

August 16, 1976 — May 19, 2021

Leander, Texas

Michael David Carvajal passed away, May 19, 2021, at his home. He was 44 years old. Services will be 2pm, Sunday, May 23, with Rob Clingman officiating at Grace Gardens Funeral Home with a visitation following.  Service will be livestreamed on Grace Gardens Facebook page, and then placed here after it's conclusion.

Michael was born August 16, 1976, in Houston, Texas. Growing up he enjoyed art, music, and skateboarding with friends. He loved to read, especially sci-fi novels and anything educational like his large collection of National Geographic Magazines. He also had good memories with his brother, Richard. They always stuck by each other’s side through many hardships. As an adult, he liked fishing, camping and going to his cabin in Colorado.

He was married to Tanna in 1997 and had two beautiful kids, Aedyn and Sydney. He was so proud of them and was able to recently see both of them graduate. His daughter Sydney, graduated in February 2021 and just four days before his passing he was able to watch online as his son, Aedyn, graduated from A&M. This was something that everyone knew he did not want to miss.

Michael graduated from TSTC in 2002 and started his first job as a computer programmer that same year at IAS, Inc in Austin, Texas. After a few years he worked his way up to being a Senior Project Manager. He enjoyed his job and considered his team and boss like a family and ended up working there for almost 19 years. Even when he could not work, he still checked in to see how things were going.

Michael was preceded in death by his Father, Richard Anthony Carvajal, Sr. He is survived by his Mother, Maryann d’Agrella-Austin; his Son, Aedyn Carvajal; Daughter, Sydney Carvajal; Brother, Richard Anthony Carvajal, Jr; Nephews, Anthony, Nicholas
and Ricky; and Nieces, Amber and Ashly. He also had many other family and friends that were like family.

Michael had many trials with his illness, but he was grateful for the extra time he was able to spend with his loved ones. He was a fighter and didn’t give up and always hoped that he would get better. Michael was deeply loved by his friends and family. His loss is deeply felt by those who loved him.
