Melvin Dyer

Melvin Lee Dyer, 54, died in Waco, Texas, on June 4, 2011, at a local hospital. A visitation has been scheduled at Grace Gardens Funeral Home on Thursday, June 9, 2011, from 6pm to 8pm.

Mr. Dyer was born July 15, 1956, in Columbus, Ohio. His parents were Loris V. Duncan and James W. Dyer. He attended Waco Schools and graduated from Richfield High School in 1974. Following graduation, he was employed by Community State Bank as head-teller and he worked with the Medicaid Hospice Program in Austin, Texas. At the time of his death, he was a billing specialist for Home Hospice of Grayson County.

He was preceded in death by his parents and eldest brother, Michael J. Dyer.

He is survived by two brothers, Billy V. Dyer and wife, Jimmie Dyer, Waco, Texas; Randy B. Dyer and wife Ann Dyer, Lorena; sister-in-law, Deborah Dyer, Cushing, Texas, several nieces and nephews, and numerous friends.

Mr. Dyer will be remembered for his helpful nature and quick wit.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the hospice agency of your choice or the Salvation Army.
