Matthew Cowan, 38, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, November 14, 2021. A visitation will be Sunday, November 21, 2021, from 2-4pm at Grace Gardens Funeral Home, 8220 Woodway Dr., Waco. The graveside service and interment will be at 1:00 P.M. Monday, November 22, 2021, at Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. John Durham officiating.
Matthew was born March 22, 1983, and was a graduate of Arlington High School. He received his BS in cell and molecular biology from Texas A&M Corpus Christi. He enjoyed watching Texas Rangers baseball and Baylor football. There was nothing in Matthew’s life he loved more than being a loving husband and father. One of his biggest accomplishments was being a father to Quinn. She was the apple of his eye. Their favorite things to do together were bouncing at the trampoline park, playing video games at Chuck E. Cheese, giving her rides on his shoulders, and playing pranks on mommy. He taught Quinn to be kind and to have fun.
Matthew was preceded in death by his Papa Kelly and his Granddaddy and Granny Cowan.
He is survived by his wife Tarin; daughter Quinn; parents Steve and Kim; brother Blake; Granny Kelly and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. Aside from being survived by his family, he also leaves behind Zion, the family cat who he shared a special bond with.
