Biography
Mary Ann Hatcher (Doty ) Schoffler, 65, of Hewitt, Texas, went to be with the Lord on July 2, 2009. Mary Ann was born Feb. 18, 1944, in Waco, Texas, to the late Hubert Bill and Mary Earline (Younce) Hatcher. She was a 1962 graduate of Waco High School. Mary Ann loved her grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. She was employed at Sam’s Wholesale Club as a product demonstrator. Mary Ann considered her fellow co-workers and church friends to be her second family. She will be remembered for her generous heart and spirit. Mary Ann held dear her faith in God and taught his principles to her children and grandchildren. She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, Robinson.
She was also preceded in death by her brothers Bill Hatcher, Gary Hatcher, Tommy Bailey and one sister Juanita Cook.
Survivors include her daughters, Shelley Myers, and husband Mark of Cedar Park, Deana Majors, and husband , of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, and Leeanne Parsons of Hewitt; three sons, Steve Doty of McGregor, Russell Doty of Hewitt and Gerald Schoffler, and wife Kristal of Keller. She is also survived by her ten grandchildren, Falyn Myers, Mary Beth, Matthew and Noah Majors, Cannan Doty, Kelsey and Erica Anderson, Baylee and Gavin Schoffler, and Lauren Parsons.
Mary Ann is also survived by two sisters, Sandra Hill, and husband John of Hewitt, Rene Martin, and husband Troy of Hewitt; one sister-in-law, Donna Hatcher of North Richland Hills, and three brothers, James Hatcher of Dripping Springs, Larry Hatcher and wife, Rosemary of Ft. Worth and Jerry Hatcher of Ft. Worth; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to recognize a very special group of people that Mary Ann valued and treasured: special friends Bill and Betty Gillum, Shirley Love and sister Betty, Velda and Ted Doye, Nina Olsen, and Bonnie and Clifford Hackett. We would also like to recognize her co-workers: Chery, Geneva, Sally, Timmy, Hazel, Geri, Ruby, Carol, Betty, Nancy, Hazel Hobbs, Faye, Sandra, Wanda, Angie, Dolly, Barbara, Vonda and Thersa.
Pall Bearers will be Michael Adams, Russell Doty, Steve Doty, Larry Hatcher, Jerry Hatcher, Gerald Schoffler and honorary pallbearers Ted Doye, Bill Gillum, Cliff Hackett, Corkey Williams and the ladies from Sam’s.
Mary Ann’s family extends their appreciation to the physicians and staff of Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center and to Dr. Cessnun and Dr. Chakmakjian.
