Biography

Ruth Moore age 88, of Robinson, Texas, passed away Tuesday December 27, 2011, at her home with her family by her side. Funeral Services will be held at 1PM on Friday, December 30, 2011, at Grace Gardens Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Moody Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6PM to 8PM Thursday, December 29, 2011, at Grace Gardens Funeral Home.
Ruth was born October 21, 1923, in Moody, Texas, to Charlie and Mary Bagby. She attended Moody schools and married Arnold Moore on November 12, 1943. Ruth was a hard worker all of her life, working in many different capacities but all involving serving others. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Moody and Meadowbrook Baptist Church in Robinson. Christianity was vitally important in Ruth’s life and she taught her children by example: forgiveness, giving to others, acceptance, strength through God, and the Grace of God. Do not take this to mean that her sense of humor wasn’t also very healthy; she was always ready with a “zinger!”
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four brothers and one sister.
Ruth is survived by her sister Faye Reed of Hallsburg, Texas, her four children Tricia and spouse Joe McKelvain of Killeen, Texas, Jeannie and spouse Hal Hunt of Eddy, Texas, Susan and spouse James Pena of Waco, Texas, and Kyle Moore of Robinson, Texas. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Chris Pena, Amy McKelvain Picot, Meghan McKelvain Cassidy, and John Pena, as well as five great-grandchildren, Emilee Cassidy, Sydnee Cassidy, Lylee Cassidy, Christopher Pena, MaryGrace Picot, and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials may be made to the Homebound Ministry of Meadowbrook Baptist Church, 1207 N. Old Robinson Road, Waco, Texas, 76706, or The First United Methodist Church Building Fund, 3501 E. Elms Road, Killeen, Texas, 76542. The family also wishes to issue a special thank you to Providence Hospice, and especially, Nate Matlack, for the excellent care and concern extended to all of us.
