Martin Garcia Sr

Martin Garcia Sr. of McGregor passed away Friday in a local hospital. Memorial service will be 11:00 A.M. Friday,September 23,2011 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home Chapel.Visitation will be from 6 to 8 P.M. Thursday, September 22,2011 at Grace Gardens Chapel.

Mr. Garcia was born June 30, 1940 in Mathis, TX to Eulojia and Jesus Garcia. In August 27, 1958 he married AlejandraSepeda of Mathis, Texas. They moved to McGregor the same year. He worked for the Eisen Brothers Furniture Plant in McGregor. Mr. Garcia did seasonal work at the Cotton Gin in McGregor while employed at other jobs. Later on in life he was employed for 29 years at H&B Contractors until he retired to help care for his wife.

He was preceded in death my his wife Alejandra, parents, three sisters, and a brother.

Survivors include: Sons, Martin Garcia Jr. and wife Beatrice of McGregor; Samuel Garcia and wife Norma of Abilene ; Eddie and Danny Garcia of McGregor; Daughters, Melinda Marquez of McGregor; Susana Garcia Gilmore and husband Rick of Robinson; Dalia Garcia Brown and husband Bill of McGregor. Sisters, EmeliaVeliz and husband Claudio of Mathis, Texas ; Francis Trevino and husband Domingo of Cheasning Michigan; Brothers, Avel Garcia of Mathis Texas; Santos Garcia of Bay Town , Texas; Jesus Garcia and wife Olivia of Round Rock, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Mr. Garcias name to the McGregor EMS in care of Mynette Taylor 311 S. Main , McGregor, Texas 76657, Special thanks to the Hillcrest fourth floor and surgical ICU nurses and Scott and White Hospice. Also, thanks to the many family and friends that visited him .
