Martha Hilaria Proctor

Martha Hilaria Proctor, 93, of Waco, was welcomed into heaven on November 8th, 2020, while surrounded by family. A graveside service will be 2:00 pm, Friday November 13th at North Belton Cemetery in Belton, TX. She will be in state 12:00 to 4:30 pm on Thursday, November 12th at Grace Gardens Funeral Home.

Martha was born January 14, 1927, in Guanabacoa (Havana), Cuba to Jose and Amparo Arteaga. She married Dr. Jose Falcon in December 1946. Together they had one daughter, Martha (Martica).  She emigrated from Cuba in June 1962. She later married her second husband, Ernest T. Proctor in June 1967 with whom she had a son, Ernest Lee. She worked at Crestview Manor in Belton, TX where she worked as a nurse aide for over 10 years. Her compassionate nature allowed her to build many special bonds with those who were in her care.

Martha had a spunky spirit with a heart of gold. She dearly loved and adored her family.  Martha was a loving and compassionate soul, so much so that she never met a stranger. She was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents and husband ; siblings, Jose Arteaga, Manuel Arteaga, Concepcion Arteaga, and Amparo Arteaga; stepchildren Sue Forbes, Carolyn Bowers, and Robert Proctor; a son in law, Gustavo Levy and other countless loved ones.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Martha Levy; a son Ernest Proctor and his wife, Traci; grandchildren Dr. Alejandro Levy, Brianna Proctor, Kate Booker, David Bowers, James Proctor, Diane Wiley, Jack Forbes, Danny Bowers and several great-grandchildren and many other beloved family members.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Providence Park, Providence Hospice and Providence Hospital 3 South for their love and care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your local Salvation Army.
