Marshall Burns of Waco, passed away on July 17, 2023. A visitation will be 10-11 AM, Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home Chapel, with a memorial service at 11 AM. Rev. Scott Rhodes will officiate. Inurnment will be at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.
Marshall was born July 6, 1973 to Richard and the late Debra Linville Burns. He attended University High School, Mart High School, and TSTC. A few years after school, he enlisted in the United States Army, serving in Germany, Bosnia, and at Fort Hood. In the army he served as a helicopter mechanic.
Proud of his service and his country, Marshall was an enthusiastic member of the VFW. Above all, he would want it mentioned that he was a HUGE fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Baylor Bears.
Sadly, he had recently become engaged and was excitedly planning for his wedding.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grand-parents, Ray and Pat Wheeler; maternal grand-parents, Lester and Dorothy Linville, and his birth mother, Debra Burns.
Survivors include his parents, Richard and Brenda Burns of Marion, Iowa; sisters, Stacey Carter (Josh) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Madison Burns of Marion, Iowa; brother, Jeremy Hamilton of Valley Mills; his fiance, Aminata Koroma of Waco; Uncle, Kerry Wheeler (Sarah) of China Spring; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
