Marilyn Ann (Sharp) Satterwhite, of Waco, went home to be with the Lord she loved and offered her prayers to daily for her family on October 28, 2016. Memorial services for her will be on Saturday, November 19th at 11:30 am at Grace Gardens Funeral Home. Visitation with family and friends will be from 10:30 am to 11:30 am at Grace Gardens Chapel.
Marilyn was born on July 17, 1944 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was the loved daughter born to Major Earl and Naomi Blanche (Eagan) Sharp. She attended various schools in elementary and junior high school and graduated from Kimball High School in Dallas. After high school graduation, she attended University of Texas at Arlington where she completed a two-year Associates Degree in Secretarial Science. It was while attending college that she met the love of her life, Harold Satterwhite. They were married at the Plymouth Park Baptist Church in Irving on May 28, 1966. Marilyn and Harold celebrated 50 years of marriage this year.
She was employed as an Assistant to the Vice President of Nursing for Baylor Hospital in Irving, Texas where she worked for over twenty years. She was a professional in her chosen work and showed her love and concern to her fellow employees. The friendships she made at the hospital where she worked lasted the rest of her life. One of the comments shared by her friends and relatives alike was that she was the most selfless person they ever knew. Of her careers the one that was closest to her heart was that of a loving wife, mother and friend. She and her husband were members of Plymouth Park Baptist Church in Irving, Texas where they developed loving friendships that have lasted all of their lives. Jeff shared that his mom had a deep passion in her life and that was genealogy and ancestry and was a member of Ancestory.com where she had run the genealogies of both the Satterwhite and Sharp families.
After courageously fighting battles with illnesses that have lasted for over 15 years, Marilyn entered her life in eternity on Friday, October 28, 2016. She was 72 years of age. She is loved and survived by her husband, Harold, of Waco, Texas, her son, Jeff Satterwhite and his wife Sarah of Denver, Colorado. One of the special loves of her life was her grandson, Logan, who held a special place of love in her heart. She is also loved and survived by other friends and family members. The family would also like to especially thank caregiver Jessica James and the nurses who so lovingly helped care for her over this past year of her life .
