Marie Dowdell, 55, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, January 23, 2019. There will be a Memorial Visitation from 5:00 – 7:00 pm, Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home.
Marie Frances Henderson was born to parents, Angelic Henderson and Quang Pham in Saigon, Vietnam on August 18, 1963. She left Vietnam at the end of the conflict, in 1972. She attended St. Anthony High School and graduated in 1981. She also went to a finishing school in Paris, France. In 1985, she obtained her BS in Computer Science. After graduation she worked for Electronic Data Systems under Ross Perot. Following that, she worked for Northrop on the B-2 bomber.
Marie married Charles Dowdell in 1997.
Marie was a successful businesswoman owning and operating C & M Partnership from 2000 to 2010 designing foundation systems and residential wastewater treatment units for many of the elite. She retired to move to Waco Texas in 2010 with her husband Chuck who had accepted a position with the City of Waco.
Her hobbies were many, cooking, gardening, reading, traveling, drawing, collecting, archeology, prospecting, gem collecting, entertaining, meeting great people, swimming, music, and video gaming. But most of all, she loved her family and friends.
She is a lifelong Catholic and is a standing member of the San Francisco Solono Catholic Church in Rancho Santa Margarita, California.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Charles; her loving son, Timothy; brothers, Tony Pham, Charles Henderson; and sister, Chris Lombard.Visits: 4
