Maria Inez Ochoa, 56, of McGregor passed away peacefully on Monday, September 25, 2017, surrounded by her loved ones after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 29, at Grace Gardens Funeral Home, 8220 Woodway Drive, Woodway, with Pastor Albert Ortiz officiating. Burial will follow at McGregor Cemetery next to her mother as she requested. Visitation will be 5 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, at Grace Gardens Funeral Home, followed by a prayer service at 6:30 p.m.
Maria was born in Waco to Oralia and George Ochoa. She attended school in McGregor. The one job she held dearly was that of being a grandmother.
Maria was preceded in death by her mother, Oralia, whom she missed very deeply. She leaves behind three daughters, Melissa Havelka and husband, James, Crystal Miranda and husband, David, and Nanette Ochoa; two sons, Alex Aviles and wife, Maricela, and Roy Ochoa; seven grandchildren, Aolani, Mason, Leticia, Abigail, Haley, Ray and Travis; her daddy, George; and brothers, Alex, George, Manuel and wife, Janise, Mario and wife, Debbie, andLionel Luis Ochoa. She also leaves behind nieces and nephews, Alex, Jacob, Miranda, Janna, Mallory, Cindy and Dillion.
Pallbearers will be Manuel Ochoa, Jacob Ochoa, Mario Ochoa, Eddie Garcia, Alex Nigo III and Sylvester Ramirez. Honorary pallbearers will be her daddy, George Ochoa and her brothers, George Ochoa Jr. and Alex Nigo.
Her family would like to give a special thanks to the Emergency and ICU staffs at Providence, Dr. S. Elwell and the staff at Providence Hospice.
