Her journey began on November 22, 1920 in Surducul Mare, Romania where she lived the majority of her life with her parents, Gheorghe and Floarea Iovan. She was the youngest of two children. Maria was a LVN in Romania and worked in the clinic. She always wanted to help others. Maria also loved to cook and bake cakes. But most of all Maria loved to be with her family. In 1988, Maria immigrated to the United States where she lived with her daughter. She overcame many obstacles in life, from communist rule, to beating cancer, kidney failure, and many visits to the hospital with serious illnesses. Nevertheless, Maria was always in great spirits and loved singing, in her special rhyming way.
Maria was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Traian Crisan; loving parents, Gheorghe and Floarea Iovan; brother, Teodor Iovan; In Laws, Nicolae and Maria Crisan; daughter in law, Constantina Dorosan; grandson, Christian Marton; and ex-husband Gheorghe Dorosan.
Maria is survived by her daughter, Mariana Marton and son, Alexander Dorosan; grandchildren, Melanie Pene and husband, Matthew, Lisa Marton, Valentine Dorosan and wife, Mirela, Nicollet Golubov and husband, Dragoslav; great grandchildren, Caden Pene, Michael and Nicholas Dorosan, and Gabriela and Stefan Golubov; nephew, George Iovan, and wife, Elena; and many family and friends.
