On November 27, 2017, Margie Lou Everett Wood was welcomed into the arms of our loving Lord and Savior. Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Thursday, November 30, 2017, at Peace Lutheran Church, 9301 Panther Way, in Hewitt, with Rev. Stephen Rynearson officiating. A Visitation will be 4:00-6:00 PM Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at Grace Gardens Funeral Home.
Margie was born on February 13, 1939, in Premont, TX. In 1957, she was a senior in high school when she met the love of her life, Alan. Within the year, on April 19, 1958, they married and remained in South Texas until 1971 when they relocated their family to Central Texas and have lived in Woodway for the past 46 years. Margie loved being involved in church activities such as youth group sponsor, Braille worker, hand bell choir, and LWML. The couple also owned Brazos Business Machines until its recent closing. She and Alan had enjoyed traveling and had planned to add to those experiences.
She is survived by her husband and best friend of almost 60 years, Alan Eugene Wood, daughter, Alana of Magnolia, son, Everett (Woody) and wife Sandy of Pflugerville and two adoring grandsons, Zachary and Joshua. Margie is also survived by her brother-in-law, Hugh Smith, of Temple along with nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to thank the medical staff at Temple’s Baylor Scott and White ICU and neurology team, Hospice, her caregivers, those who provided therapy and health care for Margie over the past months, and church members, family, and friends for their cards and visits. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League at Peace Lutheran Church, 9301 Panther Way, Waco, TX 76712.
