Margaret Gilleland

Margaret Nell Gilleland, age 81, of Waco passed away January 31, 2012 at a Katy, TX hospital. Funeral Services will be 1PM Saturday, February 4, 2012 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with David Webb officiating. Interment will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6 to 8PM Friday February 3, 2012 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home.

Margaret was born February 12, 1930 in McLennan County to Lee and Eula Brink. She married Thomas Harrington Gilleland on April 23, 1949. They were married 50 years and made Waco their home. Margaret worked at Monnigs Department Store, Century Marble and retired after working as office manager for Dr. Robert L. Stockton for 23 years. She enjoyed bowling, fishing, gardening, dominoes and cards. She cherished time spent with family, friends and especially with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sisters Eddie Russell and Lucille Rutherford and brother B.V. Brink.

Margaret is survived by her sons, Thomas “Buzz” Harrington Gilleland II and wife Gillian of Katy, Keith Hiram Gilleland and wife Suanne of Hewitt and daughter, Lori Nell Fowler and husband Victor of Woodway and grandchildren Brandon Gilleland, Damon Gilleland and wife Lorraine, Justin Gilleland and wife Jennifer, Adam Gilleland and wife Jenny, Kellis Webb and husband David, Erin Woods and husband Jake, Jessica Gilleland, Amy Davis and husband AJ and John Fowler. Great grandchildren Layne, Payton, MacKenzie, Brooke, Savannah, Truitt, and Zachary. She is also survived by sisters, Margie Tubbs and Virgie Shehorn.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Gilleland, Damon Gilleland, Justin Gilleland, Adam Gilleland, John Fowler, Jake Woods and AJ Davis.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials are made to the American Lung Association.
