Marcelle Spellman, age 89, of Waco passed away Friday May 6, 2011, at a local nursing facility. Memorial Services will be 4PM Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at The Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit.
Marcelle was born December 15, 1921, in Mobile, Alabama to Edwin and Genevieve Harkins. On June 7, 1941, she married Troj Meriwether in Mobile and they were happily married until his passing on January 26, 1974. In April of 1992, Marcelle married M.A. Spellman of Savannah, Georgia. They were happily married until his passing in the summer of 2008. She moved to Waco in August 2008 to be near her family.
She is survived by three children Marcia Anderson and husband Pike of Hewitt; Rick Meriwether of Birmingham, Alabama and Pat Meriwether and wife Kathy of Camas, Washington; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff of Royal Manor Nursing Home for all their love and support during her time there.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit in Waco, Texas.
