Mary Madonna Turner, 81, of Waco, passed away on January 11, 2021 at home surrounded by her loved ones. A private ceremony will be Monday, January 18, 2021 at Oakwood Cemetery.

Madonna was born June 23, 1939 in San Diego, California to Wilbur and Helen Rives. She graduated from Henderson High School in 1957. She then went on to college at Stephen F. Austin where she was voted Most Beautiful. While at SFA, she met the love of her live, Wade Turner. The two married in Henderson, Texas on July 25, 1959, a union that lasted 59 years.

Shortly after, Wade and Madonna moved to San Angelo. Madonna graduated from Angelo State with an Education degree. During the 13 years of living in San Angelo and teaching school, Wade and Madonna welcomed Kimberly Denise in 1960 and Allison Paige in 1965. The family moved to Waco in 1972 because of a football coaching job that landed Wade at Baylor University. Madonna loved fashion and opened her own store called My Fair Lady. She also taught numerous students at Waco ISD and Midway ISD and retired after teaching for many years.

Madonna was very active in the lives of her two girls, and her grandchildren. She loved to read, travel and shop. She was involved in her Sunday school class at First Baptist Woodway. She loved the Lord and was kind to everyone. She never met a stranger. Madonna’s biggest joy in life was spending time with her Wade.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wade.
