Madalene Bow Allen

Ms. Madalene Bow Allen passed away January 23, 2024 in Hewitt, Texas into the arms of her Lord.

A memorial service in her honor will be Wednesday, January 31, at 11:00 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home.

She was born in Houston Texas on December 2, 1947, to Douglas Maclaren Bow, Jr. and Ohma Smith. She had an older brother, Douglas Jr. She married Barry Allen and together they had 2 children, William and Jennifer. She lived in Houston, Chicago, Florida, Connecticut, and Georgia but mostly Texas thru the years. Madalene graduated from Sam Houston University. She held various administrative positions through the years. Her last employment at retirement was with the State of Texas Pension Fund. She made many friends in Austin and was involved with the charity organization Settlement House.

She moved to Waco in 2018 and soon found her spiritual family at Fellowship Bible Church where she made some of her closest and dearest friendships. She especially enjoyed being involved in the Operation Christmas Child project every year and would spend many hours shopping for that ministry.

She also loved being involved with her Home Group and treasured the time she spent with them. She was involved with the Women's ministry thru attending the weekly Bible Studies. She was a member of a Book Club as one of her favorite pastimes was reading. She loved all things connected to supporting military.

Madalene was a very thoughtful and caring lady. She loved detecting a need or want in her friends and then immediately setting about to fulfill that need or desire. Holidays were particularly a time to focus on displaying some of her creativity that she had always loved sharing. Particularly were her skills on display at making posters for the Veterans parades when she spent many hours making intricate posters to show her appreciation and support at the parades. She loved gardeing and was very good at it!

Madalene had learned to lean on and be very thankful to the Lord Jesus Christ. She knew Him as her Lord and Savior and wanted to serve Him in any way possible. She expressed her gratitude to God for allowing her to walk with Jesus in a person relationship with Him! She was blessed to be in the Christian family.
