Albert Lyndon Lynch, 83, of Crawford, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2024 in the Hope Unit at Sunset Home in Clifton, Texas.
Lyndon was born on September 3, 1941 in Waco, Texas to Frank Ross Lynch and Catherine Corneille (Alexander) Lynch. He married his high school sweetheart, Margie Nathelle Merritt, on July 20, 1963 in Crawford, and they spent nearly 53 years together, raising kids and enjoying their grandchildren.
From the 60s all through the 80s, Lyndon’s jobs consisted of driving a cattle truck for Nelson Cattle Co., traveling all over the panhandle and different parts of Texas and as far as Montana; driving for Central Freight lines; and working as part of the Lynch Dairy partnership with his mother and brother, Keith Lynch. His final job was working in Crawford at Franklin Industrial, which later became Lhoist, from 1989 until he retired in 2013.
Lyndon was an honest and loyal man with a dry but sharp sense of humor. He was respected by all who were blessed to know him. He loved his Lord and Savior and was a member of Crawford First Baptist Church. He loved his cattle and tending to them and being on the land that he grew up on and later owned with his wife. His greatest joy was being with his grandchildren, and he was blessed to spend time with some of his great-grandchildren.
Lyndon was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Margie, and his brother Keith Lynch of Crawford. He is survived by his children: son Charles Lynch and wife Lana, son Douglas Lynch and wife Cindy, daughter Christi Ely and husband Brandon; grandchildren: Chase Lynch and wife Taylor, Chane Lynch and wife Ashley, Cheyenne Lynch Sanchez and husband Alec, Colton Lynch and wife Olivia, Jake Lynch and wife Hannah, Korie Dutschmann, and Garrett Dutschmann and wife Haley; 11 great-grandchildren: Walker and Sawyer Lynch, Dean and Emma Lynch, Bowen and Brenna Sanchez, John Lynch, Jack, Magnolia, Theodore and Cullen Lynch; and sisters-in-law Billy Lu Lynch and Sharon Nichols as well as cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to his caregiver, Billie DeChaume, along with the nurses and staff at Hope Unit at the Lutheran Sunset Home in Clifton and Hospice Sunset in Clifton.
Visitation will be Friday, November 22, 2024 at Grace Gardens in Woodway from 5 PM - 7 PM. Graveside service will be at Osage Cemetery in Osage, Texas on Saturday, November 23 at 10 AM.
