Lynda Ann Swoveland, 83, of Waco, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2025. Born February 7, 1942, in Moody, Texas, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who lived with grace and warmth. A devout Christian, Lynda found strength in her faith and is now home with the Lord.
She had a long and accomplished career as an executive administrator and realtor and later retired from Valero. She was known for her creativity, love of journaling, trips to the movies, and "Mimi’s Restaurant," a cherished tradition with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lynda is survived by her husband of 64 years, Duane Swoveland; her children, Jay (Joyce) and Tammy (Rick); many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and was preceded in death by her parents, James Thomas and Mary Dee McKamie.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at First Woodway Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christian Women’s Job Corp (cwjcwaco.org) or a church-related cause close to your heart in her memory.
