Ludwig Mortimer Dyson, Jr., 78, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 27, 2024.
LM was born November 4, 1946, in Abbeville, Louisiana. He met and married the love of his life Dora Lynn Wright. They had a wonderful love story together for 56 years of marriage.
LM was playing the “boogie woogie” on a piano after church one Sunday night when Doralyn walked in and from there it all started. First, they called California home, while LM, served as a drill sergeant with the US Army during the Vietnam War at Ft. Ord, in Monterey, CA. Next, they welcomed their first daughter, Dawn, while in undergrad at Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, Texas. Three years later their, angel, Christi was born while teaching at Texas A & M Corpus Christi. Their first son, Trey, was born while working on his PhD, at the University of Florida. Last, but not least, now with LM teaching at Baylor University in Waco, Texas the baby of the family, Peter, was born.
LM taught at Baylor University for 35 years. Teaching was his occupation but his love for others and meeting their needs was his passion. He thrived on figuring out how to do the impossible. LM and Doralyn served faithfully many local churches here in Waco and the people of Cuba for the last 25 years in this capacity.
LM is survived and loved by his wife, Dora Lynn Wright Dyson; daughter, Dawn Henry and husband, Kelly of Waco, Texas; daughter, Christi Blakelock and husband, David of Dallas, Texas; son, Ludwig (Trey) Dyson, III and wife, Cinnamon of West, Texas; and son, Peter Dyson of Waco, Texas. He is also survived by sister, Sarah Dyson, of Robinson and sister, Judy Ducharme and husband, Mike Remus of Waco, Texas. He was the proud grandfather to Tanner Henry, Zack Henry, Olivia Blakelock and George Dyson. He was also blessed with his God son, David Can.
LM was proceeded in death by his parents Ludwig Mortimer Dyson, Sr. and Beverly Cessac Dyson.
