Louis Charles Bayer

Louis Charles Bayer of Waco passed away Sunday, afternoon, January 15, 2023, at the age of 80.  Visitation will be 6 to 8 P.M. Thursday, January 19, 2023, in the Bluebonnet Parlor of Grace Gardens Funeral Home 8220 Woodway Dr., Waco.  The graveside service and interment, with military honors, will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, January 20, 2023, in Crawford Cemetery with Rev Kent Berry officiating.

Louis was born May 29, 1942, in Waco, Texas, the son of the late Fred John and Syble Lee (Tabor) Bayer.  On August 11, 1962, he married Wanda Rutherford, who preceded him in death in 1998, after 36 years of marriage.  From June 9, 1961, until his honorable discharge June 8, 1967, he served his country in the United States Marine Corps After being employed by the McLennan County Sherriff’s Department, he continued to work security.

Louis was always willing to lend a helping hand, especially to strangers.  In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, operating C.B. Radios and work on cars.

Also preceding him in death were a son Mathew Bayer; two brothers, Howard Bayer, Fred Bayer; a sister Judy Hensley

Survivors include a son John Bayer and Wife Buffy; grandson’s Judson Bayer, Jackson Bayer; a great grandson, Greyson Bayer and several nieces and nephews.
