Linda Marie Roe

Linda Marie Beasley Poynor Roe, formerly from Euless, Texas, passed from this earth on July 2, 2024. Linda was born in Weatherford, Texas to William Edward Beasley and Olita Marie Beasley. She had an older brother, William Sherwood Beasley, and a younger brother, Cam Edward Beasley. Linda graduated from Odessa High School and became a hair stylist. She married Julian Forrest Poynor on July 1, 1960 and they had three daughters – Carie Downes (Michael) from Hewitt, Texas, Juliean Gershenson from Euless, Texas, Joni Little (Bobby) from McKinney, Texas. Linda also has seven grandchildren – Cliff Dunnam (John Allen) from Hewitt, Texas, Chad Dunnam (Michelle) from Hewitt, Texas, Jeremy Gershenson from Euless, Texas, Caylie Dunnam (Rebecca Tudor) from Los Angeles, CA, Blake Little (Caroline) from McKinney, Texas, Trey Little (Denise) from McKinney, Texas, and Jordan Gershenson (Allison) from Omaha, Nebraska. In addition to her grandchildren, she has six great grandchildren – Veyda Gershenson, Branson Little, Connor Little, Tiger Little, Tatum Little, and Hunter Little.

Linda enjoyed spending time with family and had a special relationship with her first grandchild, Cliff Dunnam. Cliff could not say Grammy when he was little – mom’s preferred grandmother name – so she settled and grew to love being called Mammy. She also enjoyed playing board games and especially was fond of crossword puzzles and word games.

Linda married Herbert Gerald Roe in March of 1976 and he preceded her in death on January 9, 2019 after 42 years of marriage. Herb and Linda lived in Farmers Branch and then Euless. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Olita Beasley and her brother Sherwood Beasley.

There will be no service. The family would like to thank Julie Gershenson, Linda’s middle daughter, for caring for her the past five years so she could remain in her own home for most of that time. Special appreciation also goes to Joni Little, Linda’s youngest daughter, and Bobby Little for cleaning out and updating mom’s home creating a safe environment for her to live out most of her last days in the comfort of her own home. Special recognition is also extended to Carie Downes, Linda’s oldest daughter, who provided daily support and care in Linda’s last five months, and Michelle Dunnam, granddaughter-in-law, who took care of Linda in her final days as her Hospice Care nurse. The family would also like to thank the staff at Regent Care Nursing Facility in Woodway, especially her CNA, Doris Richie, for the great care she received while there. Any memorials should be made to a local school district of your choice and designated to pay for school lunches for children who need them. In honor of our Mom we ask all to consider granting forgiveness to all you know. It sets you free and leaves healthy relationships, kinder memories, and a legacy of love for others.
