Lillie Hernandez

Lillie S. Hernandez age 91, of Waco passed away Sunday February 10, 2013 at her home. Graveside services will be at 11AM Thursday February 14, 2013 at Waco Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8PM on Wednesday February 13, 2013 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home.

Lillie was born on August 12, 1921 in Waco, Texas to Rufus and Victoria Saenz. She graduated from Waco High. She married Frank Hernandez on December 21, 1945. They lived in Waco their whole life. She loved to cook and knit and was affectionately known as Nanna to everyone. She was an avid baseball fan and especially loved following the Atlanta Braves.

She was preceded in death by her husband Frank of 49 years; a sister Rosie Vasquez and two brothers Manuel and Rudy Saenz; brother in law Jesse Mendoza.
Lillie is survived by a son Larry Hernandez; a daughter Joyce Perez and her husband Royce; a sister Dora Mendoza; three Grandsons Andre Perez, Erik Hernandez and Eryn Hernandez; two Granddaughters Nicole Lewis and husband Cody and Ashley Perez; a brother in law Benny Vasquez; two Great Grandsons Christian Perez and Justin Perez; four nieces Nita Meeks, Dora Jean Mendoza, Ruth Ann Foster and Barbara Ellers.

The family would like to thank Providence Hospice and Annette Flores for their loving care. A special thanks to Delores Faggue for her loving care of Nanna.
