Leonard Niño Jr. was granted his Angel wings on August 1st, 2021. Leonard was a life-long resident of Waco, Texas. He died unexpectedly at the age of 60.
Leonard was born June 4th, 1961. The son of the late Leonard Niño Sr and Ruby Estelle (Combs) Niño.
He attended Waco High School and carried his career into auto painting. For many years he was employed by Macco Auto Body Shop as an automobile painter. He was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church. On June 29th, 2003, he married the love of his life and best friend Rosie Rios in Waco, Texas.
Leonard in his early younger teenage years, enjoyed playing with his little toy soldiers. He even built a wagon to push his little sister around. He enjoyed going down to the Brazos River fishing with his mother and helping his father around the house with any projects that needed mending.
Over his life years, his journey led him to meet the love of his life and best friend Rosie. He was a hilarious and funny person that always managed to put a smile on your face. His family and friends never knew what to expect when he had something to say. His world's passion and buddy was his least and youngest son. They were inseparable and did everything together. He loved spending a great deal of time with his kids, grandchildren, great-grandchildren playing basketball, swimming and going out for a stroll to local flea-markets. He enjoyed relaxing watching Dallas Cowboys, fishing and barbecuing. He loved his family and was a proud husband, dad and Pape'.
Proceeding him in death were his daughter, Erica Marie Rivera; sisters; Carol Sue (Niño) Peeler, Shirley Thomas, Ruby Simpson, Esther Contreras and numerous half-sisters.
Survivors include his wife Rosie; sons; Leonard (Trey) Niño lll, Jeffery Rios; sisters, Mikka (Niño) Villarrial, Luita (Niño) Nobles and husband Ronald Sr.; grandchildren Olivia Stabeno, Taylor Stabeno and Zachary Stabeno; great-grandchildren, Erica Lamb, Ariana Lamb, Robbie Lamb, Angelina Lamb, Sergio Ortiz Jr.,Angel Ortiz and Jasimine Jackson. And loved by many numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was a true friend to everyone he met. His cheerful humor and bright smile will be missed by all. He is at peace and heaven will rejoice at his coming home.
A small come and go visitation will be held 4:00pm-5:00pm on Saturday August 14th, 2021 in the Parlor of Grace Garden Funeral Home, 8820 Woodway Dr. Waco, Texas 76712
