Leo Rubel of Woodway passed away Saturday afternoon January 9, 2021 at the age of 89. Graveside services and interment will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 15, 2021, at Whitehall Cemetery in Woodway with Harry Harelik officiating.
Mr. Rubel was born March 9, 1931, in Waco, Texas, the youngest of four children to Arthur and Sarah Rubel. He was a 1949 graduate of Waco High school. On August 26, 1950, he married Minnie Faye Massey in San Angelo, Texas. Shortly after his marriage he joined the Air Force.
For over fifty years, he was the owner of Rubel Industries (Rubel Junk Company) with his brother Joe, until his retirement in 2001. Leo loved to bass fish, spending most Sundays on the Lake.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Minnie Faye; parents; sisters, Hilda Ruttenburg, Rae Trustman; and brother, Joe Rubel.
Survivors include daughters, Patrice Dempsey, Candy Shepard, Laurie Pierce; grandchildren, Mariah Dempsey, Jonathan Taylor and Andrew Shepard.
The family has suggested memorials be made to the charity of your choosing.
