Kimberly Elizabeth Cheney

Kimberly Elizabeth Cheney, 39, of Waco, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2022.
Kimberly was born on January 10th, 1983 in Temple, Texas, and was the daughter of Leon and Gayle Cheney.  She loved the outdoors, including hunting, camping and fishing; which she especially loved to do with her dad.  Particularly, Kimberly loved horses and horseback riding, which she did often at her Godfather, Parnell McNamara's, ranch in Waco.
Kim also had a passion for competitive car racing.  Since she was 6 years old, she would go to the races twice a week, watching her uncle Gary race and attending various other races in Waco. She also loved the drag boat races and attending the local monster truck rallies.
After high school, Kim wanted to be an elementary school teacher, but life had other plans.  Eventually, she took her love of children and began working at Central Faith Child Development Center in Waco in 2008.  She worked there for 14 years until she passed.
Kim was a kind and gentle soul who will be greatly missed by her friends and family alike.  She is survived by her mother Gayle Cheney, her brother Robert Shadowens, her brother John (Taylor) Cheney, her uncle David Harvey and her uncle Gary (Diane) Gray and numerous aunts, cousins and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her father, Leon Cheney.
There will be a visitation at Grace Gardens Funeral Home in Waco, TX on April 1st from 5-7pm.  The funeral will be held at First Baptist Church of Woodway at 11am on April 2nd with burial services following the funeral at Oakwood cemetery.
