Kenneth "Hutch" Dean Hutchison

Kenneth Dean (Hutch) Hutchison born October 9, 1941 at home in Prairie Hill, of Waco passed away on June 10th, 2021 at home with his wife by his side. Visitation will be 2 - 4 pm Saturday, June 19th at Grace Gardens Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Prairie Hill Cemetery.

Hutch was born at his family home in Prairie Hill and moved as a child to Bellmead. Attending La Vega public schools his entire life, he graduated from La Vega High School in 1960 and attended Kilgore Junior College before graduating from Baylor University in 1966. Later he obtained his Masters Degree from Tarleton State University. He worked as a public school educator and administrator in Texas school districts for his entire career with schools from West Junior High in Waco, La Vega, Yorktown, Richfield High School in Waco, West High School, Gurley (Waco), Valley Mills, Whitney, Coolidge, ultimately retiring from Hubbard ISD.

In retirement years he enjoyed spending his time pursuing his outdoor hobby breeding pigeons and game fowl, going on trips with his wife and life-long friends Pat and B.J. Korenek, and spending time with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many friends who would stop by to visit.

Hutch passed away peacefully at home which was what he would have wanted. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Lee and Beatrice Hutchison. Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Valera, two children, Tracy Dean Gohring and husband Steve and James Lee Hutchison, his brother Weldon Hutchison and wife Kathy, six grandchildren; Brandon Bohannan (Meghann), Justin Bohannan (Lisa), Chelsea Gresham (James), Tessa McGrath (Cameron), Haley Denney (Joey) and Kenneth Cade Hutchison, seven great-grandchildren; Ross Bohannan, Hutch Bohannan, Raylan Bohannan, Lily McGrath, Avery McGrath, Elijah McGrath and Noah Tovar, three nephews Michael Hutchison (Emily), Douglas Hutchison (Chrissy) and Kevin Hutchison and many more dear friends.
