Kenneth Dietzman

February 3, 1942 — June 24, 2016

Kenneth Dietzman of McGregor passed away early Friday morning, June 24, 2016, at the age of 74. Visitation will be 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday June 26, 2016, at Zion Lutheran church 503 S. Tyler Street, McGregor. A funeral service will follow at 3 pm at the church with Pastor Pat Dietrich officiating. Interment, with military honors, will follow in McGregor Cemetery, under the direction of Grace Gardens Funeral Home. Mr. Dietzman was born Feb. 3, 1942, in Waco, Texas the son of the late William and Ruby (Lammert) Dietzman. He was a 1960 graduate of McGregor High School where he played football and track. He continued his education at East Texas State University where he earned a Bachelors of Science Degree in Industrial Technology in 1965. On August 17, 1963, he married Nita Jan Gipson in Tyler, Texas.

During the Vietnam Conflict, he served his country in the US Army and was honorably discharged Nov. 23, 1968. The life long McGregor resident he enjoyed gardening and following his grandchildren in their activities.

Kenneth was a longtime active member of Zion Lutheran Church where he was baptized and confirmed.

Survivors include his wife Nita Dietzman of fifty-two years; a son Ray Dietzman and wife Kati of McGregor; a brother, Mike Dietzman and wife Patty of McGregor; a sister Dorothy Stanley of Clifton; three grandchildren, Branden, Brenna and Kynzli; a niece Shelley Galle; two nephews, Jason Stanley and Colin Stanley.

For those desiring, the family has suggested Zion Lutheran Church, 503 S. Tyler St., McGregor, Texas 76657 or Providence Hospice, 6700 Sanger Ave. Waco, Texas 76710, for memorial contributions. The family is grateful to the Providence Congestive Heart Failure Clinic for the years of loving care and friendship they provided Kenneth. Kenneth loved the staff and care he received from these special people. The family extends their grateful appreciation to Providence Hospice for their wonderful care.
