Kathy Poulter

Kathleen Jeanette Ellisor Poulter age 62, of Waco passed away Monday April 23, 2012 at a local hospital. Memorial Services will be 1:30PM Saturday April 28, 2012 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Amos Humphries officiating.

Kathy was born on September 23, 1949 in Waco, Texas to Jacob and Ethel Ellisor. She graduated from La Vega High School in 1967. She graduated McLennan Community College with an Associate in Applied Science degree in nursing in 1975. She had the highest score statewide in Medical/Surgical nursing on the State Licensure Board Exam that year. She worked for Hillcrest Hospital for all her career, primarily in coronary critical care and later in Home Health/Home Hospice prior to her retirement in 1997. She spent her life giving loving, compassionate care to her patients, family, and animals. She was a loving wife, daughter, sister, and aunt. She loved to work in the yard and also loved to travel. One trip took her to Australia where her mom was born and raised. She enjoyed taking photographs of her travels and of family. She also loved to be in the kitchen cooking with and for family.

She is survived by her loving husband David; two sisters Diane Ellisor of Australia and Cynthia Kling and husband Larry of San Antonio, Texas; a Step-Daughter Emily Poulter; Step-son William Poulter; sister in law Sharon Stone and husband Phillip, along with nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family wishes to thank the Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center/Scott & White Health Care staff, especially the in-patient hospice team for their care and support.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Scott & White Hospice at Hillcrest, the Waco Humane Society or the charity of your choice.
