Kathleen Louise Silva

Kathleen Louise Silva, lovingly known as Kathe, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2024. A memorial service to honor Kathleen's remarkable life will take place 11:00am on February 10, 2024, at Grace Gardens Funeral Home in Waco.

She was born on August 17, 1949, in Harrison, Arkansas. Kathe touched the lives of those around her with her vibrant personality and dedication to others.

From an early age, Kathe demonstrated remarkable determination and valor. Immediately after graduating from Pryor High School in Oklahoma, she answered the call of duty and joined the United States Marine Corps. Kathe's career within the Marine Corps spanned three years of active service followed by two years in reserve. Kathe served as an Operations and Communications Manager, utilizing vintage printout computers to fulfill her duties with precision and expertise.

Kathleen's time in the Marine Corps was but one aspect of her life. She possessed an outgoing and bubbly nature and a strong sense of self. Quick to make friends and armed with a sense of humor, Kathe brightened every room she entered. Her willingness to help others shone as she lent a helping hand where it was needed. Kathleen's neighborly spirit served as an example to all who knew her.

Beyond her military service and infectious personality, Kathleen had a heart for community engagement. She organized block parties and community events that fostered a sense of unity among neighbors and friends. These gatherings became cherished memories.

In her free time, she found exhilaration in sports car racing. Additionally, she delighted in culinary prowess by cooking for gatherings and exploring new recipes.

Kathleen's memory will forever be etched into the hearts of her loved ones. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth, who cherishes the moments they shared together, she is also survived by many friends. Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents.

Kathleen Louise Silva enriched the lives of countless individuals through her warm presence, kind heart, and dedication to others. Her vibrant spirit will be deeply missed but forever cherished.
