Juanita Reneau went to be with the Lord on May 30, 2016 at 10:00 pm. Memorial services will be on Friday, June 3, 6:30 pm at Crestview Church of Christ, Waco, TX.
Juanita was born on August 7, 1931 in Amarillo Texas. She later met the love of her life, D.L. Reneau, on October 7, 1951. After 16 dates over 10 days D.L. and Nita were engaged and later married on April 10, 1952. They moved to Lubbock where Nita worked at The Frontier Stamp Company while D.L. attended Texas Tech. In 1955 they expanded their family with the birth of their first child, Bruce on May 13th. In the fall of that year they moved to McKinney and then to Grand Prairie Texas in the spring of 1956. Their family expanded again with the birth of the first daughter Cheryl in 1958. They moved to Richardson in 1960 and helped start the Waterview Church of Christ. Their third child, Jeffrey, was born in 1961. Nita gave the initial push to relocate to Long Island as part of the Exodus Bay Shore project to plant a church in the northeast – West Islip Church of Christ. Nita saw her life in the northeast as a true missionary field holding Bible school classes in her home for neighborhood children. The Reneau family expanded again in 1964 with the birth of their second daughter, Janine. The final addition to the Reneau family was with the birth of Rosemarie in 1971. Later that year, the Reneaus moved again to New Jersey to become part of the Shiloh ministry. They became part of the Garrison Road Church of Christ where Nita often taught Bible school classes.
Once again Nita was ready to move back to Texas in August of 1979, she and DL moved to Waco, Texas, started Print Mart and became active members of Crestview Church of Christ. After 64 years of marriage, 10 different homes, 5 children, 10 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, many more friends and relatives, Nita often said she had a full life. The most common things said about Nita was and is, “She’s the sweetest person I’ve ever known.” She has been a living example of the love of Christ to all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, DL Reneau, son Bruce Reneau and wife Barbara of Crowley, Texas, daughter Cheryl Schroeder and husband David, son Jeffrey Reneau and wife Patty, daughter Janine Jones, and daughter Rosemarie Toten, all of Waco, Texas along with 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. We know that she is celebrating with her Lord now.
