Joyce Lanell Voigt Lynn, 80, of Waco passed away at her home Tuesday, March 3, 2015. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 7, 2015 at St. Matthews Lutheran church, 800 N. New Road with Rev. Paul Krupicka officiating.
Joyce was born August 21, 1934 in Southland, Texas to Arthur Voigt and Edda (Malina)Voigt Catchings. She graduated from Slaton High School, and then attended Texas Tech for 2 years before completing her B.S. in Nursing at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. This is where she met the love of her life, Dr. Walter Lynn. After their marriage, they lived in Portland, Oregon, Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Manhattan, New York. They retired to Waco in 1972.
She was a very active member of her Church, in Les Nouvelles Amies (LNA), and held many positions on the board of Windmill Hill Association. Joyce loved bridge and was a life master. She was also a master in all kinds of needle artistry.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Walter Lynn; her parents; her sister, Helen Lee; her brothers, Arthur Voigt, and Clarence Voigt.
Joyce is survived by her niece, Teresa Lynn, sister, Ann Voigt Box, sister-in-law, Sandra Voigt, and many nieces and nephews.
