Dazery “Joy” Erlanson of McGregor passed away peacefully in her sleep Saturday morning November 14, 2020.
Graveside services will be 2pm on Tuesday, Nov 17th at the Robinson Cemetery.
Family and friends are welcome to attend a meet and greet at the graveside 1 hour before the service begins.
Mrs. Erlanson was born on Oct 28, 1932 in Moody, Texas. She was the daughter of Stanton Lewis and Viola Lee Lewis (French). She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Erlanson was married to her husband John “Bobby” Erlanson on June 18, 1949 and they remained faithful to each other until his death Nov 2, 2010. She was a graduate of the 4-C Business College in Waco, and was one of the few woman who could write in "short-hand".
The Erlanson’s were long standing members of the First Baptist Church of McGregor. Joy was Baptized into the Church in April of 1959. She served for many years as a Sunday School teacher in the Children’s Department and as a GA’s (Girls Auxiliary) leader.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John (Bobby) Erlanson, Mother, Viola (French) Hurley, and her sister, Betty Bishop.
She is survived by her three sons, Michael Erlanson and wife, Linda of Hewitt, Kenneth Erlanson and wife, Lana of Gatesville, Robert Erlanson and wife, Betty of McGregor; daughter Elizabeth (Beth) Wooderson, and husband Randall of Hillsboro; seven grandchildren; and eight great grand children.
Honorary casket bearers will be Chris Erlanson, Ben Erlanson, Aaron Byrd, Jeremy Valentine, and James Howell.
