Joseph Emmitt Knox

May 18, 1977 — August 19, 2021

Waco, Texas

Joseph Emmitt Knox, 44, died Thursday, August 19, 2021, at Providence Hospital in Waco, Texas.  Memorial Service will be 11 am, Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home with a time of visitation with the family beginning at 10am.

He was born May 18, 1977, in Pasadena, Texas to Emmitt Leon Knox and Gwenda Lois Brookshire-Knox.

Joe earned his associate degree in HVAC from Texas State Technical College in May of 2008 and worked for a few companies before settling in Waco.

Joe moved his grandmother, Mary, to Waco to have her live near him and care for her.  He had a huge heart for family and was often trying to coordinate a family reunion, especially with “just the cousins”.  He never tired of being the comedian of any group and was always trying to make someone laugh, even if he was the only one who thought something was funny.

Shooting guns with Sherrill was a favorite pastime and he never tired of window shopping for anything related to this hobby.

Living in the country at his “farm” was a goal for Joe and he would share memories about the times he had with his grandparents in Iola, Texas and eventually moving there to pursue his dream of becoming a farmer.

Joe was preceded in death, by his grandparents, John Knox and Mary Davis Knox; his father Emmitt Leon Knox.

He is survived by his wife, Sherrill McDaniel; mother, Gwenda Knox of Waco; brother, Clint Knox and partner Dorothy Wilson of Austin, Texas; his wife’s children, who loved him dearly, Charles Franklin Bashioum, III and wife Courtney; Children, Amiyah, Nevaeh and Charles F. Bashioum IV, and John Dillon Ender and wife Morgan; son, Dallas Ender.
