Jomarie (Smid) Kampermann

Joemarie Kampermann of Hewitt passed away early Monday morning, June 28, 2021, at the age of 79.  The memorial service will be 10:00 A.M. Friday July 2, 2021, in the Chapel of Grace Gardens Funeral Home with Father James Ekeocha officiating.   For those unable to attend, the funeral will be lived streamed through Grace Gardens Facebook Page.

Jomarie was born September 18, 1941, in Norfolk, Virginia, the daughter of the late Emil and Josephine Mary (Ferrara) Smid, Jr.  In 1959 she graduated from high school in Brooklyn, New York.  Jomarie was artistic and worked as a high-end hairstylist for many years in Queens, New York.  Jomarie loved being a chef in her own kitchen.       On June 30, 1973, she married Edward Kampermann in New York.

The couple moved to Hewitt in 2018 from Howard Beach, New York.  She loved butterflies and often captured them in her works of art.

Also preceding her in death was a sister, Emily Smid.

Survivors include her beloved husband, Edward Kampermann; three step-sons, Raymond Kampermann, Michael Kamperman and wife Carrolle, Kevin Kamperman and wife Robin; four step-grandchildren, Katie Talbert and husband Walker, Sean Kamperman and wife Colleen, Amanda Kampermann, Jacob Kamperman and two great step-grandchildren, Lucy Ann Talbert and Caroline Talbert.
