Johnny Ruth Harper

Johnny Ruth Harper age 98, of Oglesby, Texas passed away at a nursing facility on Friday August 3, 2012. Graveside Services will be 2PM Monday August 6, 2012 at Post Oak Cemetery in Oglesby with Rev. Walter Davidson officiating. Visitation will be from 12PM to 1PM at Grace Gardens Funeral Home Chapel prior to the service.

Johnny Ruth was born on May 6, 1914 in Coryell County to Ansel and Edna Prewitt, and was the third of eight children. She graduated Gatesville High School in 1932 and married Travis Bannister in 1933. After the death of her husband, Johnny Ruth married Victor Harper in 1974.

She was preceded in death by her only son Bill Bannister, and one grandson Tray Morgan.
She is survived by daughters Kay Morgan and Brenda Haviland, sister Peggy Hunter and brother Jack Prewitt. Johnny Ruth was blessed with seven grandchildren and numerous great and great great-grandchildren.
