Johnnie Lois (McDaniel) Hunt

Johnnie Lois Hunt, 87, of Woodway, passed away Monday, December 4, 2023. Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Friday, December 8, at Grace Gardens, 8220 Woodway Drive, Woodway, with Rev. Kenny Prince officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, Thursday, December 7, at Grace Gardens.

Johnnie was born May 2, 1936, to John and Julie McDaniel in Pampa, Texas. She married Sherman on June 13, 1959. She was a homemaker and worked as a bookkeeper while they lived in Big Lake, Texas. They moved to Waco in 2005 and were members of Christian Life Church in Robinson. They were married for nearly 59 years before his passing in 2018. She loved her family and playing games with her grandsons. She enjoyed sewing, cross-stitch and quilting and was passionate about ice cream.

She was preceded in her death by her husband, Sherman; brothers, Edward Arlen McDaniel and Larry Mitchell McDaniel. She is survived by her son, Leland Jay Hunt and wife Glennia, and daughter, Julie Hunt Loudamy and husband Wade; grandchildren, Jonathan Bryan Hunt and wife, Natalie, Caleb Loudamy and wife Payton, Keaton Loudamy, and Jaron Loudamy; along with four great-grandsons,  and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
