John Lassiter

John R. Lassiter age 81, of McGregor passed away Thursday, October 18, 2012, at Providence Hospital in Waco, TX. A celebration of his life will be held Wednesday, October 24, 2012, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the McGregor Hall on Johnson Drive in McGregor.

John was born September 24, 1931 to Hubert and Delma Lassiter. He was married to the love of his life Nancy Lassiter on November 2, 1957. Nancy preceded him in death on December 31, 2010. He served in the United States Marine Corps and was a member of the American Legion Post 273 in McGregor.
He loved good books, movies and spending time with family and friends; especially his best friend Ron Carr. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren.

John was preceded in death by his sister Mary Ellen Partridge. He is survived by two sons, Marcus Lassiter and wife Velma, Mitchell Lassiter and wife Becky, and a daughter, Tracie Anaya and husband Johnny. Six grandchildren, Erin Greer, Paige Lassiter, Makenzie Lassiter, Katherine Lassiter, Kevin Green, and Tasha Renfro. Three great grandchildren, Carson Lassiter, Quinton Renfro and Brinkley Renfro.
