John Paul Hambrick Age 60 of Whitney, Texas passed away on Monday, October 21, 2024. Funeral Service will be 10 am, Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home, with Police Honors. Burial will be 3pm, Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen with Army Honors. A visitation with the family will be 5-7 pm, Tuesday, October 29, 2024.
John was born April 13, 1964, to Carrol and Sandra Hambrick. John was a retired Detective Sgt for the Waco Police Department; he served 34 years.
John was also proud of his military service; he was honorably discharged in 1985 from the U.S. Army.
John had a love for hunting and fishing. John and brothers: Jeff and Steven spent many days either in the woods looking for squirrels and rabbits or at the water fishing or hunting ducks. John was forever berating Jeff for playing the Star Spangled Banner with a duck call, or Steven for making them laugh so much it scared the wildlife away. John had a love, for dogs he befriended many strays.
John is preceded in death by his mother Sandra Hambrick, and youngest brother Steven.
Survivors include his sons: Tyler and Jacob Hambrick of Waco, Father Carrol Hambrick of Whitney, and brother Jeff and Kathy of Whitney, and nieces and nephews.
