Joe Bob Whitt

Joe Bob Whitt passed away on January 27th, 2025. There will be a graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery on Saturday, February 22th at 11:00am, with Pastor Barry Camp officiating.

Joe Bob was born on November 12th, 1940 in Marlin, TX to JD and Juanita Whitt. He moved to Waco at age 8 and graduated from Waco High School in 1959, following which, he attended Texas A&M and Baylor. He married Anne Glasgow in 1963. He served in the military during the Vietnam era, and then started working as an engineer at WACO radio, where he remained for 10 years.

In his spare time, Joe Bob loved to work long hours in his yard, and following retirement, he took up scuba diving. He and his wife loved to travel and to entertain in their home. He was a long-time member of Highland Baptist Church, and was greatly loved by family, friends and neighbors alike.

Joe Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Anne, his parents, JD and Juanita Whitt, his brothers, Jimmy and Jay, and his son, Tom.

Joe Bob is survived by his sister, Sandra Callan, Brother-in-law, Mike Callan, Sister-in-law, Joan Keeling and many nieces, nephews and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
