"Joan" Jo Ann (Franks) Lyon

Jo Ann (Joan) Franks Lyon passed away peacefully on July 28, 2021. Joan was born to Everett Rudolph Franks and Essie Bell Franks (nee Grice) on October 6, 1931 in Gainesville Texas. The Franks family moved to Waco where she grew up and married J. L. Lyon in 1948. They moved to Magnolia, Texas with their son, Larry, in 1958 and lived there until Joan moved back to Waco following J.L.’s death in 1992. Joan was preceded in death by an older brother, Raymond.  She is survived by a younger brother, Jack and his wife Nancy, by her son, Larry and his wife Carol, two granddaughters, Laura Irvine and her husband John, and Lisa Taylor and her husband Franco Alegria, and three granddaughters, Ashley and Audrey Irvine, and Diana Taylor.  Her burial will be during the fall in Klein Memorial Park Cemetery, next to her husband, J.L.   As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be sent to Fuzzy Friends Rescue of Waco.
