Jimmy Dan Stone

Jimmy Dan Stone of McGregor passed away Friday night December 4, 2020 at the age of 80.  Visitation will be 1 pm, Sunday, December 13, 2020.  A Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 pm.  Burial will be a private service.

Mr. Stone was born November 22, 1940, in McGregor, Texas, the son of the late Oscar Dennis and Ola Mae (Rhoads) Stone where he was a 1960 graduate of McGregor High School.  On April 2, 1965, he married Shirley Lillard at College Ave Baptist Church in McGregor.

Much of his life was spent in the construction business and for twenty-two years he was employed by the McGregor Independent School District as Maintenance Director. He was a long-time member of College Ave Baptist Church of McGregor.  He enjoyed camping, fishing and spending time with his family, children and grandchildren.

Mr. Stone was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Shirley; two daughters, Shelly Stone Kunze and husband Robert and Shawna Stone Nickel and husband Beau; one brother, Dennis Wayne Stone and wife Faye; sister-in-law Nancy; his precious grandchildren Sherry, Kimberly & Eric, Cagney & Zane, Tara & Clint and Travis; great grandchildren, Cash, Remington, Ben and Salem.

Preceding him in death are his parents, sister Norma Jean (Leonard) Cathey; and brother, Doug Stone.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks you consider a donation to the American Cancer Society.
