Biography

Jerry Belville, 71, of Lorena passed away Friday, July17, at his home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer. Services will be Sunday, July 19, 2009 at 3:00 PM at Grace Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Collier officiating.

Burial will follow at Stanford Oaks Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, July 18, 2009 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Grace Gardens Funeral Home.

Jerry was born and raised in Waco, Texas to Clarence and Leona Belville.

In 1960 he married Sidney Nix and has been married 49 wonderful years and raised two children.

He worked at Southwest Chemical for 10 years. He then worked for Lone Star Gas as a Service Technician and retired after 39 years of Service. Jerry enjoyed spending time with his family . He loved sitting on the front porch shooting his BB gun, hunting, and riding horses. He spent many hours playing his guitar, singing and enjoyed playing with his Christian Band at Parkview Baptist Church. Most of all he cherished his faith with the Lord and loved reading his Bible daily.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Henry Belville, sisters Effie Stewart and Dorothy Mills and grandson Heath Bradley McDow.

He is survived by his wife Sidney of Lorena, son Greg Belville and wife Patti of Lorena, daughter Sherri McDow and husband Billy of Waco. He also has 3 very special grandchildren, Logan Belville, Synda McDow, Bradley McDow, and fiancé Anita Lam and 1 great grandson Christian Tia Lam. Two brothers, Jack and wife Ann of Calvert, and Charles and wife Georgia of West, and two sisters Betty Kilgore and husband Terry of Rockwall and Doris Reed of Waco and 1 special sister-in-law Nell Sexton and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Keith Belville, Sam and Stephen Sexton, Jarrett and Weston Townsend, and Bobby Warren.

Family suggest memorials be made to Parkview Baptist Church.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the nurses and staff of Providence Hospice
