Jenna Marie Richbourg was born to Keith and Sherri Richbourg on April 24, 1997 in Fort Worth, Texas. She was the light of her parents' lives and touched the hearts of all who knew her. Jenna was born with MPS, a rare genetic disorder that affected her heart, stature, and capacity to live a "normal life". In retrospect, she lived an "extraordinary life" and brought joy to others through her innocence, sweet disposition and sassy attitude. Jenna was a "girly girl" and loved all things pink, her special girlfriends (no boys allowed), and everything about Texas A&M. Jenna learned about volunteering and service to others during her involvement with her mom in the Waco Chapter of the National Charity League. She participated with great pride as a Manager in the Midway Goal Tenders dance team and was also honored and blessed by the Make A Wish Foundation who made a dream Disney experience come true, including a surprise bon voyage party with Baylor's Chi Omega Sorority all dressed as Disney princesses to celebrate Jenna's special moment. She has experienced incredible love in her short life.
Jenna was particularly close to her doctors and nurses who cared for her with surgeries over the years on her heart, spine, hips, knees, and countless other elements of her three and one half foot tall body. Our family is endeared to the professionals at Cook Children's for their compassion and commitment to giving her the best possible quality of life as well as a piece of their hearts. She loved her church family and knew that God loved her. We joyfully and tearfully know that she is in God's arms and we look forward to being reunited with her in heaven.
She is preceded in death by her cousin Brandon Richbourg, her loving great grandparents, great aunts and great uncles.
She leaves behind her loving parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and her special cousins.
Special thanks to all the loving family, friends, and brothers and sisters in Christ who have loved her and helped her parents endure her loss.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the National MPS Society can be made in Jenna's honor for research to find a cure. The MPS Society is funded through loving donations and community fundraising. Donations can be made to "The National MPS Society", P.O. Box 14686, Durham, NC 27709-4686 or by visiting their website: www.mpssociety.org.
