Jeffrey Poquette

Jeffrey Poquette, of Lorena passed away Sunday August 22, 2010 at a local hospital with his family by his side. Funeral Services will be Thursday 10AM at Grace Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Brian Gochenour officiating. Burial will follow at White Rock Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 to 8PM at Grace Gardens Funeral Home.

Jeffrey was born October 14, 1962 in Hermansville Michigan, to Bernard and Harriet Poquette. He graduated from North Central Area High School in Michigan. He married Gale Patterson on May 23, 1986 in Waco, Texas. He served in the US Army during the first Gulf War participating in Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm. After his honorable discharge, he returned to Central Texas making his home in Lorena. Jeff drove truck for a living, and that is exactly how he liked to say it. He loved cooking, especially barbequing and smoking brisket. Jeff was a real jokester as he enjoyed telling pulling and hearing jokes and stories. He was also a very giving person, especially when it came to his family. While Jeff considered himself a Texan and most who knew him did also, you could tell he had Michigan roots as he was a die hard Detroit Lions fan which he picked up fromhis dad.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandmother and grandfather Alfred and Violet Poquette; his maternal grandmother Margaret LeBombard and his uncle Lester Poquette; his granddaughters Kayla and Selina Bissette.

Jeffrey is survived by his wife Gale; two daughters Laura Vernon and her husband Ray and Tammy Toliver and her husband Dan; two sons David Compton and his wife Holly and Galen Ihlenfeldt and his wife Mindy; his parents Benard and Harriet; a sister Patti; and two brothers Chris and Eric; his grandfather Clifford LeBombard and nine grandchildren and numerous Aunts and Uncles.
